THERAPEUTIC OILS
The Synergistic Blends
developed by Scents of Balance are compositions of 100% pure and natural essential
oils blended together with the specific intention of enhancing their therapeutic and
aromatic qualities. These blends can be used in baths, diffusers, added to oils, lotions
or sprays, or just simply inhaled. Sold in 10 ml. sizes (1/3 oz) ~ Other sizes available
upon request.

Inhalation |
Simply open the bottle and inhale, or put a few drops
on a tissue and sniff. In many cases, this is all you need to do. |

Diffusers |
Introduce essential oils into the air so you can breathe in the
aroma and therapeutic properties of the oils. They range from simple evaporation devices
to nebulizers which atomize oil into microscopic droplets. |

Vapor Inhalation |
In a glass bowl, add 4 to 10 drops of essential oil to 1
quart of very hot (not boiling) distilled water. Cover both head and bowl with a towel
creating a tent effect. Keep your face about 10" from the water and inhale deeply,
yet gently. |

Spray Mists |
Add a wonderful therapeutic fragrance to the air around you.
Simply take a small 4 ounce bottle with a spray top, fill it with distilled water and add
10 to 20 drops of essential oil. |

Tub Bath |
Fill the tub, add 6 to 12 drops of essential oil, then stir with you
hand until evenly dispersed. Immerse yourself in the aromatic water for a least 10
minutes. |

Foot Bath |
Add 5 drops in warm water (add 1/2 cup epsom salts if feet are
swollen). |
|
Gargle |
Add 3 drops in warm, pure water. |
|
Massage |
Add 8 to 12 drops of essential oil to 1 ounce of carrier oil, for a
general massage, or 15 to 20 drops for intensive action. |
|
Foot & Hand Massage |
Add 2 drops of essential oil to 1 tablespoon carrier
oil. |
|
Hot or Cold Compress |
Fill a small bowl with 2 cups hot or cold distilled
water. Add 4 to 5 drops of the proper essential oil and mix thoroughly. Saturate a small
cloth, squeeze out excess water and apply. |

Sauna |
Add 10 to 15 drops of essential oil to 10 ounces of distilled water.
Pour over rocks 1 cup at a time. |
|
Body Lotion |
Add 10 to 12 drops of essential oil to your favorite
unscented body lotion. |
|
Skin Brushing |
Place a blended massage oil onto your skin and brush upward
toward the heart with a loofah or body brush before bathing or showering. |
Directions:
- We recommend only external use of the oils.
- For children under the age of 6, cut amounts in half. Do test for
skin sensitivity first!
- Never use near the eyes.
- Store oils in a cool, dark place, keep upright and capped to prevent evaporation.
- Store oils out of the reach of children.
- Essential oils are potent! Use carefully and in small amounts.
- Consult a health care practitioner before using if you are pregnant.
